About Us
Originally two large Victorian houses, The St Andrews was converted into a hotel in 1969 by Wally Nobbs. Having grown weary of his job in London, Wally decided to move to Devon, where he and his family had spent their holidays. He and his wife Marie successfully ran the hotel for 35 years and since then, the hotel has continued to remain independent and family run.
After studying at the University of Exeter, we both fell in love with the city and decided we wanted to make Exeter our home. Having taken over the management of the hotel, the St Andrews continues to evolve with the times, whilst proudly retaining its historic charm and elegant individuality.
The hotel is perfectly situated within walking distance of all that Exeter has to offer, whether you are here on business or for leisure. Exeter offers its visitors an eclectic mix of rich and fascinating history, and the lively vibrancy of a modern city.
Committed to the highest standards of customer care, with a personal touch, we want to ensure our guests feel welcomed and at home with us. We are on hand to help with any queries you may have; dietary requirements, travel arrangements, area information or any advice we can offer!
We look forward to welcoming you to our hotel.
